May 2026: Physical vouchers in Mafelo — how to use them?
We know that during gift-giving seasons (such as Christmas, Mother's Day, or birthdays), your clients are looking for something truly special. An email code is convenient, but a beautifully packaged, physical voucher often makes the biggest impression and is seen as a "premium" product.
That is why we have added a new feature to Mafelo: physical vouchers!
How do physical vouchers work?
The whole process is about giving your clients the power to choose. When a client decides to buy a specific package (e.g., a "Family package"), they will see the option to select the gift format during checkout: digital or physical.
The process looks like this:
- Format selection: The client clicks whether they prefer to get the voucher code immediately via email or as a physical print.
- Delivery: If they choose the physical version, the system will ask them to select a delivery method (e.g., personal pickup, courier, or parcel locker) from a list you configured earlier.
- Payment: The client pays for the order – the package price and the delivery cost are automatically added together.
- Fulfillment: You receive a notification about the paid order, pack the voucher, and send it to the client or arrange a pickup. Of course, for your clients to have this choice, you need to configure your packages in the Mafelo panel first.
How to configure it (step by step)
The configuration will literally take you a few minutes. Go to Voucher settings, where you will find four main areas:
- Voucher validity: You set one global validity period for all new vouchers to avoid any misunderstandings.
- Packages available as vouchers: Next to each package, you will see checkboxes for "Digital" and "Physical". Select the ones you want to offer for a specific package.
- Delivery methods: Select the delivery methods from the ones you already configured in Settings → Delivery methods. (Remember: if you mark a package as "Physical", you must have at least one active delivery method!)
- Additional questions: Create a list of questions to show during voucher purchase (e.g., about a dedication or the recipient's name). You can set them as required or optional.
