🤖 "AI Protection" - a new watermark in Mafelo!

The security of your photos online is our absolute priority. In response to the development of new technologies, we have introduced two significant improvements to the watermark system to protect your work even more effectively.

The new "AI Protection" watermark

We have added a completely new type of watermark to Mafelo, designed specifically to make it harder for AI tools used to remove such protections.

How does it work?

The new "AI Protection" watermark applies a pattern over the entire surface of the photo, consisting of subtle diagonal stripes and repeating text (e.g., "Unpaid photo" or "For selection").

This dense and complex combination is exceptionally difficult for AI programs and algorithms to remove automatically.

Important note: This watermark, when set to a high opacity (a high value on the 'Transparency' slider), may slightly alter the photo's colors and contrast. This is a trade-off: if you want the maximum possible protection against theft, this is currently the most effective method.

How to set up the new watermark?

Setting up the new watermark is very simple:

1. In your Mafelo panel, go to the "Settings" tab.
2. Next, click the "Watermark" icon. The watermark settings will appear.
3. Click the "Change watermark" button.
4. In the window that appears, you will see the new "AI Protection" option (with several text variants). Choose the one that suits you.

5. Use the slider to set the "Transparency" and be sure to check the photo preview with the watermark applied!

Our recommendation: We recommend setting the transparency at 60-70%. In our tests, a value of 65% gave very good results, effectively protecting the photo while maintaining its clarity.

Combine forces: Two layers of protection

Remember that the new watermark is powerful technical protection. However, psychological protection and educating your clients are just as important.

Therefore, we encourage you to combine this feature with our "Psychological Barrier". Both of these features, working together, create the strongest protection system for your photos available in Mafelo.
